Oct. 25th, 2004 12:47 pmI am now back at work, and while I still have conjunctivitis, I can actually see out of both eyes this week, which is always handy. I spent the weekend looking alternately like a panda on drugs and an unsuccessful boxer, but still managed to buy some clothes. I now have a couple of pairs of trousers for work, a pair of general-purpose black trousers, a new work bag that's big enough to fit lunch in, and two new tops. I'm feeling rather ambivalent about one of the tops - it's a bold darkish red with a blurred pattern of yellow flowers, and is much brighter than things I usually wear. I really liked it on the hanger, decided in the changing rooms that absolutely nothing suits people with red eyes, and bought it anyway on the grounds that it was in the sale. Now I just have to persuade myself to wear it!
My current resolutions are: eat less (so I can fit comfortably into size 12 things again), and pay more attention to clothes. My general attitude to clothes shopping is to wish that I could bulk-buy trousers and shirts, then wear them until they wear out, but I've decided that I really ought to grow up and stop looking so scruffy. Or at least look scruffy by design, not by accident.
