Memory like a thing with holes in

Someone on my flist posted recently about a children's book that is going to be turned into a film. Can I remember who posted it, when they posted it, or even what the book was? No. I think there was a horse in the title, and various commenters read the book as children, suggesting that it isn't a recent publication, but that's as far as I've got. Anyone else remember?

Yes, that was it, thank you! Was it you who posted about it?

I posted about it, about a week ago. Were you interested in knowing which of the forthcoming movies it was?

Thanks! No, I'd just seen a book I thought might be the same one being sold online, second hand, and thought I remembered one of the commenters saying it was difficult to get hold of. I wanted to see whether there was someone who was particularly looking out for a copy so that I could tell them if so. The comment I'd remembered turns out to be about Goudge's other books, though, so I might just buy it for myself.

I learned of the movie's existence in the first place from the latest reissue of The Little White Horse, under the movie title, so I know The Secret of Moonacre-the-book is easy to get hold of right now.

Your comment, however, is a good reminder to take [livejournal.com profile] coth up on her offer to loan them to me!
