Well, what else are LJs for?

I've had a horrible cold for a week, urgent and stressful stuff-to-fix-for-touchy-customer things at work - and have just discovered that we really need to make a change which is going to be really quite tricky to code and a real nightmare to deploy - and what I really want to do is go home, make myself a cup of cold-repelling tea* and knit.

*1 lemon and ginger teabag, hot water, as much real lemon and root ginger as you have the energy to cut up, a large dollop of honey and a larger one of cheapish whisky.

What I'm actually going to do is post this music meme that's been going around, then go back to huddling in my corner and working out exactly how much effort it's going to be to sort this work thing out.

From everyone else's memes I have learnt that I have almost no ability to remember lyrics without their music. Also that some people's music collections seem to be much less scattershot than mine!

I find that cold-repelling teas work a lot better when you put in a hefty dose of spices. A few peppercorns, a few cloves, a cinnamon stick, anything you have around really. Hope the cold goes away soon!

Good plan, I'll try that. Although peppercorns would require disassembling the pepper grinder, which always ends up with pepper bits everywhere. It's been a bit temperamental ever since I tried it with one of the three-colour pepper mixes that comes with non-standard-sized things to grind.

Correct! I think I'll listen to The White Album later this afternoon, in fact. I can hold my own in a discussion about Abbey Road vs Revolver (especially when it becomes the sort of light-hearted-but-passionate discussion which occupies half a table of people in the pub and eventually random people who happen to be standing at the bar) but I'm not a Beatles fan especially and my knowledge of their other albums is rather patchy. What do you think of them?
