Dec. 10th, 2004 04:48 pmI haven't posted much for a while, largely because I mainly post at lunchtimes and those have been rather full of Christmas shopping recently. Somehow, though, I just haven't felt like writing anything. I think it's partly the fact that I'm in the office and could be interrupted at any moment. It seems to be far easier to scribble stuff in a notebook on the train, and then it seems either redundant or terribly awkward to copy it out here, especially as it's a bright pink notebook.
Anyway, just to show willing, Things I Have Been Reading Lately:
Diana Wynne Jones, Year of the Griffin
Alan Garner, The Weirdstone of Brisingamen
Maurice Keen, The Penguin History of Medieval Europe
Robert Graves, I, Claudius
Alexander McCall Smith, Tears of the Giraffe
Bram Stoker, Dracula
Daniel Defoe, Roxana, or The Fortunate Mistress
Ursula K. Le Guin, The Lathe of Heaven
Joanne Harris, Chocolat
Things I Am Reading Now:
Guy Gavriel Kay, Tigana
Linda Colley, Captives: Britain, Empire and the World, 1600-1850
William Congreve, The Way of the World
I might post comments/opinions later.
